Tutera Senior Living & Health Care is seeking a dynamic leader responsible for all accounting aspects related to the management of a portfolio of 36 commercial real estate properties and affiliated property management company. The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to, oversight of a team of two in the production of timely and accurate financial statements, budgeting and forecasting, CAM recovery estimates and reconciliations, and fixed asset management. The position requires a great deal of energy, attention to detail and ability to effectively handle multiple tasks with minimum supervision, as well as the ability to collaborate with the entire real estate management team to achieve the common goals of the department.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and Review portfolio of property financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in detail and provide explanations of material changes over period
- Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions and complete month-end close in collaboration with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Property Management and Leasing under the supervision of the EVP of Real Estate
- Accurately read and illustrate leases for proper revenue and lease term recognition in Yardi lease accounting software
- Perform CAM reconciliations, net estimates, reviews and true-ups
- Assist with transactions for acquisitions and dispositions, new developments and construction projects
- Effective cash management to meet operational needs
- Monitor banking activities and reconcile bank accounts
- Assist independent third parties on the preparation of necessary audits and tax returns
- Prepare quarterly reports for Community Improvement District board
- YardiOne account administration for entire Real Estate department
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- A minimum of five or more years of relevant experience required; experience with Real Estate ACcounting required
- Core knowledge of real estate, financial statements, and accounting concepts is required
- Previous experience in YardiOne software administration required
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, growth focused organization
- Professional image in both appearance and behavior with a high emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills and demonstrated integrity
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively present to senior and C-suite leadership teams
