What Will You Do in This Role?

As the Workers' Compensation Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the company's workers' compensation program. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, claim investigations, settlements, litigation, cost containment strategies, and meeting project/department goals. The position will focus on proactively developing, updating, and implementing policies, procedures, and practices related to all areas of workers' compensation to ensure timely and appropriate handling of employee injury claims. This position frequently collaborates with the VP of HR, and at times with legal teams and insurance providers to achieve optimal outcomes. This position may also assist with finding a workers' compensation insurance provider to meet the organization's goals of employee coverage and cost effectiveness. 

 

Do You Have What It Takes?

  • A flexible, fun, and energetic personality
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent years of experience required
  • A minimum of five years of experience with workers' compensation,  preferably in the healthcare field
  • A minimum of one to three years of supervisory experience
  • Must possess a strong understanding of workers' compensation laws and regulations
  • Experience in claims management and litigation required
  • Must possess analytical skills to identify trends and interpret data
  • Knowledge of risk management principles required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail required
  • Strong work ethic and team player with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
  • Professional image in both appearance and behavior
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
